If you have purchased or own your own mower, then there are a few things you should do to take care for and insure the life of your mower. Most mowers require weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance to keep them running in optimal condition. Keep in mind that many of these things are only minor in duty but can determine the life-span of you mowers & trimmers. Note: if you are not mechanically inclined, there are those who can do the work for you at a nominal cost.

Use on dry hot days to water your plants. The best time to water is after the sun has left your garden, late afternoon. If you water plants in full sunlight there is a danger of scorching them.
If using a watering can for weed killer, do not use it again for basic watering. Buy a seperate can and label 'weedkiller.'

A hoe is used for weeding. By skimming just below the surface of the soil you'll cut the weeds in half. This will weaken perennial weeds and kill annual weeds.
To kill perennials you will have to dig them out.
