Description
Low-growing, wiry-stemmed perennial. Grows approx 6 to 10 inches in height. Stiff and woody stems, small, oval, and gray-green aromatic leaves. Small clusters of lilac flowers.
How to Grow
Grows best in light, well-drained soil. Propagate from root cuttings, by division or by direct seeding. Thin plants 8 to 12 inches apart. Renew plants every few years
When to Pick
Cut leafy tops and flower clusters when first blossoms open and dry.
Use
Used as a seasoning. Thyme oil is used in medicines and perfumes.
