Flooring: Types of Travertine Products

There are different forms for travertine products. Depending on the product type, they vary in size and thickness. For example, tile has a different size than slabs and pavers and each size comes with a different purpose. They come in all finishes.

Travertine Tiles

The thickness of the tiles is usually ½”. The travertine tiles makes the installation smooth. Before the application of grout and installing the tiles itself, it should be installed using grout and the surface needs to be smoothed out.

Travertine Pavers

Made of natural stone and are available in different sizes and shapes for travertine pavers. It comes in 1 ¼” – 2” thick with hewed or tumbled edges. The installation should be with a combination of sand or gravel. When combined together on any pool deck, patio or driveway, they give distinct look. These tiles have the capacity to absorb heat and moisture and is designed for exterior installation. Hence, travertine pavers prove to be suitable for locations they have been installed.

 

From cream tones to gray shades, travertine pavers color comes in different ranges and the pallet layout from gold to brown. Once installed in the area, it provides a classy look and elegant texture.

Travertine Slabs

Commonly used for countertops, travertine slabs are large pieces of travertine stone. Depending upon their need and usage, these slabs come in all type of finished. These slabs can be combined efficiently with the adjoining tiles and backsplashes for its wide range of neutral color tones.

 

Travertine Mosaic Tiles

Small square shaped tile usually of 1” x 1” merge together to provide a subtle effect for the travertine Mosaic tiles.

 

There is a wide variety for travertine mosaics. Small pieces are carefully formed so they can fit together to form an attractive, accent or field tile. So they can be managed and fitted just the way they have been manufactured, the mosaics are usually available with mesh backing.

In general, mosaic tiles are in accord with their larger counterparts. They can be utilized in contrast to other colors, textures or dimensions if they do not suit.
